To get to Brescia from Verona airport you can use the Aerobus service made available by ATV – Azienda Trasporti Verona, which will lead you to the Verona Porta Nuova FS station.

  1. Milan Linate International Airport

The international airport connecting Milan with many Italian and European cities. It is about 85 km from Brescia.

Once you leave Linate airport, take the Autostradale Starfly bus to Milan Central Station (tickets can be purchased on board the bus or online atwww.airportbusexpress.it).

Reachable via the A4 Milan and Venice highway (E64), the A35 Brescia – Bergamo – Milan highway and the A21 Turin – Piacenza – Cremona – Brescia highway (E70), Brescia enjoys a strategic position, as it is at the center of the main road junctions and the major European corridors that connect Eastern and Western Europe and Northern and Southern Italy.

Brescia is served by the following highway toll booths:

  • A4: Brescia Ovest, Brescia Centro, Brescia Est;
  • A21: Brescia Sud, Brescia Centro;
  • A35: Castegnato highway toll barrier. You can reach the city via the SP11 Tangenziale Sud Road.

  • By car from Verona and Venice: take the A4 towards Brescia – Milan – Turin;

  • From Bergamo Orio al Serio airport: take the A4 towards Brescia (approximately 50 km);

Brescia and the main tourist resorts in the province can be reached by bus from Italy and Europe. The Brescia bus station is located near the train station (via Solferino 6).

Orio al Serio Airlink is the car service made available by Busitalia, a company of the Polo Passeggeri del Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane; it connects Brescia (Poliambulanza Metro stop) with Bergamo Orio al Serio International Airport in a fast, direct and safe way.

There are 30 connections scheduled every day, spread over a wide time slot. Children under 4 years of age travel for free.

Each traveler can take advantage of the free transportation of one hand bag (max. size: 50x30x25 cm) and, in addition, one piece of hold baggage (max. size: 80x50x30 cm). For each piece of baggage exceeding these dimensions or for each additional piece of baggage, it is necessary to purchase the “Additional baggage” or “Special baggage” supplement.

TRAVELING BY BUS WITHIN THE PROVINCE

Brescia is connected with the province and the most important tourist destinations in the area by an efficient suburban bus network. The main operators providing the service are:

Public transportation by bus in Brescia is organized in 16 lines connecting all areas of the city and 14 neighboring municipalities (Borgosatollo, Botticino, Bovezzo, Caino, Castel Mella, Cellatica, Collebeato, Concesio, Flero, Gussago, Nave, Poncarale, Rezzato, Roncadelle). The bus service is managed by Gruppo Brescia Mobilità.

Brescia is increasingly sustainable! The city has a steadily growing network of cycle routes that makes it easy to get around both the historic center and the hinterland towns.

Bike sharing in Brescia

Bicimia is the bike sharing service made available in Brescia (bicimia.bresciamobilita.it), which allows you to rent a bike, use it for as long as you need and return it to any other station in the city.

With over 90 Active bike sharing stations throughout the city, the service can be used by registering at the Infopoints in via Trieste 1 or via della Stazione 47a, or at one of the four city car parks (Fossa Bagni, Vittoria, Ospedale Nord, Stazione). Other bike sharing services worth mentioning are:

  • E-Bike, the electric bike sharing with pedal-assist electric bikes marked with the green logo. Info and updates on the official website;
  • BicinaMia, dedicated to children and teenagers aged 5 to 12, with rental at Bike Point Brescia in Largo Formentone and Infopoint in via Trieste 1. To use the service you must be a Bicimia subscriber.

BY SUBWAY

The automated light metro of Brescia connects the north of the city with the south-east area, passing through the center, the station and the main hospitals. The service is active from 5 a.m. to midnight, with train intervals of 4 to 6 minutes during rush hour and 7 to 10 minutes in the evening and on holidays.

Travel tickets can be purchased:

  • at vending machines in stations, tobacco shops and infopoints;
  • via smartphone and using the Viaggia con un Beep service;
  • via the DropTicket, Bresciapp! or MooneyGo apps.

Several interchange parking lots have been established, accessible free of charge or at a reduced rate for those who leave their car to travel by metro or bus:

  • North area: Prealpino, near the metro stop;
  • North area: Casazza, Via Triumplina 181/02 (behind the Futura complex);
  • East area: S.Eufemia-Buffalora, Via Agostino Chiappa (in front of the metro last stop);
  • South-East area: Poliambulanza, near the metro stop.
