Located on the Milan-Venice route, the Brescia station and Lake Garda are served by both regional trains and high-speed trains (Trenitalia and Italo). For Valle Camonica and Lake Iseo the train service by Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line by Trenord is available.
The number of trains that meet the accessibility and usability requirements for people with disabilities is constantly growing, but there are still old train carriages that do not meet these standards and that cannot be used independently by these travelers.
For information on accessibility:
- Trenitalia: set the travel search to trenitalia.com and select the train of your interest; the heading “information” shows whether the train has carriages equipped for the transportation of wheelchair users.
- Trenord: consult the specific information on the official website trenord.it
- Italo: carriage 8 of the Smart area makes 2 seats available for wheelchair users. The seats are located near the toilet, equipped for motor disabilities. All toilets are equipped with signs that can be used by blind people; numbers in Braille are provided above the seats.
